French Toast (Wendy)


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread, cut into 3/4 in slices
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar *** try less- very sweet
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup ** try less
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  1. Put butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup in a sauce pan. Cook until boiling. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour mixture into sprayed 9 X 13 pan.
  2. Put 1 layer of bread slices over top of syrup.
  3. Beat eggs lightly in a large bowl. Add milk and cinnamon and beat.
  4. Pour over bread.
  5. Refrigerate overnight.
  6. Bake at 350 for 35- 45 minutes.
  7. Flip slices over when serving as syrup is on the bottom.
