French Toast Casserole


Ingredients

  • Ingredients for 9 X 13 pan in parenthesis.
  • 5- 6 (8) cup bread cubes
  • 4 (6) eggs
  • 1 1/2 (2 1/4) cup milk
  • 1/4 (1/2) cup sugar, divided
  • 1/4 (1/2) tsp salt
  • 1 (1 1/2) tsp vanilla
  • 1 (1 1/2) tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 (1 1/2) tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 (1/2) cup melted butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Spray an 8 X 8 baking pan.
  3. Line the bottom of pan with bread cubes.
  4. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, 2 T sugar, salt and vanilla. Pour egg mixture over bread. Dot with margarine. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  5. Combine remaining sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle over the top. Pour melted butter over top. Bake for 45- 50 minutes, until top is golden.
